What is language and what is language learning? Being as a migrant here in Japan, I constantly encounter situations where my languages were put into questions for their non-nativeness. Yet, I cannot help but asking: what is nativeness? And why do I have to speak a native-level language to communicate? I spent years writing my doctoral thesis tackling native-speakerism ideology, which is a prevalent belief that helps language learning institutions to capture fluid languages. Through demonstrating the structure of the concept of native language and language itself, I wish to propose an alternative ontology for what language learning could be.

「言語とは？」「言語学習とは？」日本で暮らす移民として、自身の言語の非ネイティブ性ゆえに生じる疑問に常に直面しています。 それでも私は「ネイティブ性とは？」と尋ねざるをえません。 そして、なぜ私はコミュニケーションをとるためにネイティブレベルの言語を話さなければならないのでしょう？ 私は何年もかけて、ネイティブスピーカーのイデオロギーを課題にした博士論文を書きました。ネイティブスピーカーのイデオロギーとは、言語学習機関が流動的な言語を攻略するために広くいき渡ったビリーフだとわかりました。 母国語と言語自体の概念構造を示すことで、言語学習の概念の代替となるオントロジー（存在論）を提案したいと思います。
