Language not only reflects the way we think, but also reinforces and reshapes our thoughts. Intrigued by this bootstrapping process, I have focused my research on how the sociolinguistic and rhetorical aspects of language shape communication and perception. During my undergraduate years, I explored how the gender and voice pitch of a science communicator influence public perceptions of the anthropogenic narrative of climate change. Currently, I am investigating the adaptation of politeness strategies in human-computer interactions (HCI), with a particular focus on how gender and cross-cultural nuances shape interactions with AI-powered communication agents (CAs).

I hold a BA in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania and spent two years working at an investment bank in New York before starting at the University of Tokyo. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, cooking, and cafe hopping.

言語は、私たちの思考を反映するだけでなく、それを強化し、再構築する役割も果たします。この現象に関心を持ち、私は言語の社会言語学的側面や修辞的スタイルがコミュニケーションにどのように影響を与えるかについて研究を行っています。学部時代には、科学コミュニケーターの性別や声の高さが、気候変動に対する人々の認識にどう作用するのかを探求しました。現在は、ポライトネス理論を基づき、人間と対話型AIとのコミュニケーションにおける言語的な振る舞いを研究しています。

私はペンシルバニア大学でコミュニケーション学の学士号を取得し、ニューヨークの投資銀行で2年間働いていました。趣味はダンス、料理、カフェ巡りです。
