Lab member Shuyi Li delivered a poster presentation at the 2025 JALTCALL Conference, which was held from July 18-20 at the Tokyo University of Science (Katsushika Campus).

The presentation was titled “Harnessing the Power of LLM Prompting: Writer-Centered Approaches to AI-Enhanced EAP Writing.”

The research presented explores the ideological implications of using Large Language Models (LLMs) in ESL/EFL writing instruction, examining how LLM prompts can either reinforce or challenge students’ agency. It introduces the concept of “algorithmic nativespeakerism,” which is the operationalization of nativespeakerist ideology through automated systems that present a standardized form of English as objectively correct, potentially marginalizing linguistic diversity.

The presentation aligned with the conference theme, “CALL for All,” which addressed the growing role of AI and technology in language education. The conference is a key forum for researchers and educators to present work and exchange ideas in the field of Computer-Assisted Language Learning.

研究室メンバーである李書懿（リーシューイ）が、7月18日から20日にかけて東京理科大学（葛飾キャンパス）で開催されたJALTCALL 2025学会にて、ポスター発表を行いました。

発表タイトルは、「Harnessing the Power of LLM Prompting: Writer-Centered Approaches to AI-Enhanced EAP Writing」です。

この研究では、ESL/EFLライティング指導における大規模言語モデル（LLM）の使用の思想的影響を探究し、LLMのプロンプトが学生の主体性を強化するか、または挑戦するかを分析しました。また、「アルゴリズミック・ネイティブスピーカー主義」という概念を導入し、自動化されたシステムが客観的に正しいとされる標準的な英語を提示し、言語的多様性を潜在的に疎外するネイティブスピーカー主義のイデオロギーを実現する仕組みを考察しました。

この発表は、カンファレンスのテーマである「CALL for All」に沿った内容で、AIとテクノロジーが言語教育における役割を拡大していることを取り上げました。このカンファレンスは、コンピューター支援言語学習（CALL）分野の研究者や教育者が研究成果を発表し、アイデアを交換する重要なフォーラムです。
